A little fog
And a little dark
That makes people DRIVE LIKE ASSFUCKTARDHATDOUCHES?
Saw several accident scenes on my way home, almost witnessed two, and was almost in one.
How a Ranger driver thought a 4 lane road had a turn lane (which is actually the left lane for northbound traffic) even though its been that way for DECADES is beyond me. Thankfully I was in the right lane, and he stopped. Heading south. In the northbound left lane.
Damn near wanted to kiss the ground when I got home.
BUT, a moment of happiness! Saw a BMW driver properly using it's rear fog light. Props to you, BMW not-asshat driver.

On my way to work the other day the fog was so thick you could cut it with a knife. Naturally, half of the people on the road don't know enough to put their lights on so other peoplw can see them. This country needs better drivers education.

It wasn't even that foggy, here. Just a bit of mist from the rain. Visibility was still quite good.
I need a beer or four...

I almost got in an accident getting gas tonight....and it was my fault. I was pulling out of my neighborhood. I would explain how it looks but its too hard so here's google maps.
Now, that dip is actually bigger than it looks on there. Anyway, I look left and see a line of headlights coming down into the dip. Okay, that's fine, I should be able to make it. Look right, no one's coming. Awesome. Look left again as I accelerate out of the neighborhood and holy sweet jesus where the fuck did that minivan come from ( it was a little closer than where that SUV is). Almost got T-boned, but luckily the minivan was just far enough away where it could brake and I could gtfo. Basically, I looked to my left at just the wrong moment, when the minivan's lights were hidden behind the dip and I had no idea it was even there. Oh well, it happens.

Or... how about in SoCal when it just gets dark (without fog or rain or anything else) and the 405 freeway becomes a parking lot because OMG SCARY DARK?

They've been rebuilding bridges here, like, ALL of them. So every highway has a damn lane shift, so they can work on whatever side they need to. But holy FUCK, does it confuse the general public.
There's also an on ramp on the right of a sharp lefthand curve on the highway I take every day. As people merge, the right lane slows. Because of the curve, people in the middle and left lane see brake lights, and FREAK THE FUCK OUT. It's always jammed up there, and ONLY there. Before and after that curve? Smooth sailing.
Hope they fix that next.

Downtown Pittsburgh is absolutely terrible at driving in anything but clear skies. My commute is 13 minutes in clear skys. With Rain/Snow/Fog/Sneeze/Vomit/etc, it ranges from 30 to an hour. When the remnants of Hurricane Irene hit Pittsburgh in August 2011, my commute home took 1 hour and 45 minutes. This wasnt a full scale hurricane at the time, literally just rain, not very high winds and it took 7 times longer. I will never understand it, but cringe anytime the weather isnt clear for a commute.
